Video Demo included! Do you ever have those days where you wake up and you’re just feeling like crap? Well, as you can tell in this video, that was me this morning! I couldn’t shoot a polished-looking video about being in a bad place, right? That wouldn’t be very authentic.
Anyway, what I wanted to share in this video is a quick technique that I use on those days that I wake up saying “Screw meditation!” C’mon, we all have those days. But we all know darn well all the benefits of doing some form of meditation practice Every. Single. Day.
If you’re not sure about all these great bene’s just google “benefits of meditation” for an exhaustive list including decreased stress, decreased anxiety, more compassion for self and others, better focus, better decision-making, lower depression, regulated blood pressure and many more. In fact, in doing my dissertation research I even found studies that showed it could boost IQ!
I know for me, meditating daily makes me a better parent, a better partner, and a better therapist. Honestly, it makes me a better person.
When I meditate daily, I am able to respond to stress and negative interactions with people in a much more harmonious and patient way. Every time I do it, I simply feel more connected to the best of who I am. My Higher Self, my inner divinity, my LIGHT.
But every time I start to feel bad…I DON’T WANT TO DO IT!! It makes NO sense at all! But I can’t be the only one out there that feels this way.
I know others struggle because most of the clients in my practice tend to skip their meditation and other self-nurturing practices just when they need it the most.
But I don’t hear anyone talking about what to actually DO about it. It seems like all the meditation people out there don’t have kids, and at least pretend it’s easy for them to light a candle and sit still for 45 min daily. This is NOT my experience.
That is why I’m starting to make more of these videos. I honestly just don’t thing there are enough resources out there for the Rest of US!
Anyone can have a deeply fulfilling spiritual practice no matter what their life circumstances. In fact I really believe that our life circumstances ARE our spiritual practice. The most important thing is that we take at least some time to slow down, to connect with the essence of who we are.
Anyway, please give this video a watch and try out the 4-7-8 Breathing technique. You can even see a difference in ME and MY energy after I do the practice in the video. Wouldn’t you rather interact with the “me” at the end of the video than the “me” at the beginning? This technique only takes about a minute to do. And it literally transforms everything!
This is powerful healing stuff, people! I really hope you’ll take advantage of it!
