This day feels important! It’s Easter and last night was a Full Moon in Libra (my favorite sign!) Both carry the energy of rebirth after shedding the old outdated ways of being. I love to use stories and metaphors to illustrate the journey of our own lives.
I believe that everything “out there” is really happening “in here.” In Reiki we talk about “as above so below.” This means that everything that is happening globally is happening within ourselves and that everything that happened in the past is happening in the present.
To me the ancient Easter story is not only a metaphor for our own lives and how we can all ascend from our suffering, but also a metaphor for what is happening globally in the present. I am constantly seeing (whether I want to or not) how everything is connected. For me this is what gives life it’s magic!
Easter and the resurrection story is a metaphor for all of us to believe in the power of rebirth. This rebirthing is reflected everywhere in nature in nature this time of year with all the flowers blooming and the birds and animals making nests and literally giving birth to new life. We feel it within ourselves as well with renewed energy and lengthening days
On the other hand our world, it seems, continues to go through a kind of crucifixion. There is so much suffering on so many levels it can feel like it’s never going to end. But the Easter story reminds us that it’s possible for us to emerge from this suffering. It’s true we are ascending but as we enlighten the darkness seems to grow stronger.
This happens in our own internal growth process as well. As we try to make more deeply aligned Soul-inspired choices, our old habits and patterns tend to rear their ugly heads. Have you never tried to make positive change in your life only to find yourself going back to old harmful patterns?
Lets take diet/nutrition as an example because it’s concrete and something all of us are always working on, right?
Have you ever tried to cut out processed food, caffeine, alcohol, or sugar? Have you noticed that your cravings for the very things you can’t have seem to get stronger? A lot of times, cutting out the crap in your diet will often actually make you feel sick for a few days to a week before you begin to feel better.
I see this as a metaphor for what is going on in the world. We are seeing the rise of “the bad guys” everywhere because we are closer to a better way of being than ever before. It brings up a ton of resistance, just like we have resistance when trying to make any kind of positive change in our own life.
This full moon in Libra is really about shining a light on all the things in your life that are out of balance, out of alignment or out of integrity. Once you see it clearly, then you can really make the changes that need to be made so you can have a life of greater balance, harmony and joy.
Here’s a little exercise:
Look back on the past week. Has anything happened in your life that brought an outdated pattern, habit or belief system into the spot light? Did anything become very clear and obvious that it is no longer serving you? What would it be like to have that thing removed from your life for good? Imagine your life from this new way of being that is more in alignment with what you actually want.
What is the negative that comes up? What is the paradoxical downside of having the life you want? What do you have to give up?
The birthing process always comes with pain. There are expansions and contractions. We are seeing this at the global level but also in each of our individual lives.
Midlife is a powerful time to rebirth ourselves into the greatest versions of ourselves. We can actually use our peri-menopause and all the other challenges that happen in midlife (like launching kids, raising teens, caring for aging parents, the list goes on) as catalyst for change. Midlife is a crucible to alchemize the suffering of our lives into deeper healing required to rebirth a greater expression of our Being.
But it’s not an easy process. It can feel like a rollercoaster. The highest highs and the lowest lows…expansions and contractions!
And we are expected to do it all without support. It’s not like there’s a midwife for menopause. UNTIL NOW!!
I am calling myself the Midwife of Midlife because I love supporting women on the journey through this deep rebirthing process that we all need to go through to really become who we were meant to be when we are done raising our kids. Midlife is not the end. It’s the beginning of something better. Something more aligned and more joyful than we ever dreamed of.
If you’d like support on this journey, a midwife so to speak, reply “YES!” to this email and I will put you on a list to keep you updated on my new offerings coming out soon designed just for women in midlife who are really wanting to heal and grow into the person they were truly meant to be. Think of what the world would be like if all the midlife women were able to step into their true purpose and have the deep impact they are meant to have on the world? Let’s RISE UP! She is risen!
Happy Easter!
